How long is the wait for photo delivery?
In short, it depends.  There is a lot of variability in my workload, so the average wait time is likely within two weeks. Sometimes, the wait is closer to a month for bigger shoots. However, some projects like brand shoots, concerts, and weddings require a level of timeliness, and they will usually be expedited as a part of the price.
How long is the wait for video delivery?
Similar to photography, it depends.  However, video projects involve a lot more work in prep time, and in editing. This means most video projects will include a complementary consultation prior to the shoot, where we will talk over what we can do to best present your project or event, and how to do it most efficiently. Then, the usually wait time for editing the project, regardless of the length of the video, will take an average of a month to edit. If you need this to be expedited for any reason, we can talk directly about it, and it may come at an additional cost.
Will I receive all of the photos taken from the shoot?
In most cases, no.  This is due to various reasons, and I promise it's not me being greedy. Modern digital cameras don't work like phone cameras, where it automatically adjusts aspects of the photo to give you easy, good-looking photos. There is a ton of post-production editing, even for more subtle shots. This also means that time would be wasted editing photos that may flawed in the first place: when we post that one good selfie, think of the several other shots that may have been deleted because you were blinking. To strike a balance of beautiful looking photos and a timely delivery date, there will usually be a set amount of edited photos sent over as a part of the shoot package.
What am I really paying for?
I believe transparency is key, so here's how I break down my pricing:  I have certain costs on the day of a shoot that I need to cover, specifically regarding the gear I need, the cost of travel, setup, and even set/clothing design if it is called for. Then I usually charge an hourly rate for my time, which is a big part of my "starting rate." Finally, I have some overhead that I need to cover when it comes to equipment and services that I use throughout the post-production editing process.
Photography services are a professional alternative to doing it yourself. Anyone can take great photos with a modern phone nowadays - I love this as a fan of photography, accessibility is always great! But for businesses trying to differentiate themselves, individuals looking to elevate their visual branding, or families trying to capture those special moments, there is skill and technical equipment needed for creating higher quality media. That's what we're here for!
Do you travel / Where are you based?
I am currently based in Jacksonville, Florida, and I am willing to travel!  When it makes sense to tell your story elsewhere, I am more than open to helping out. Depending on where you are trying to shoot, we can discuss transportation, lodging, and other associated travel fees.
Can I use my photos for brand collaborations?
This is for the content creators - Any brand collaborations, advertising, or promotion of products need to be disclosed prior to shooting!  I am happy to help you in your digital marketing campaigns, but I may have licensing fees for use of media in advertising campaigns. This would be charged directly to the brand for each time it is used in an ad, not to the brand collaborators. If it's not placed in writing and co-signed by a representative of the brand that you are using shoot materials for a campaign, you may not use our work for brand marketing.
How can I best prepare for a shoot?
Good preparation is key!  Some general good tips in terms of looking and feeling your best would be to eat healthy, avoid alcohol and teeth-staining drinks, and get good sleep on the day before our shoot. If you are bringing any outfits, props, or other materials, try to have it prepped before the day of the shoot to avoid running late or adding stress.
Try to go into it with an open mind - some poses feel really goofy - but they will often turn into the best photos. If you have pose ideas in mind, feel free to bring them! It may help to have ideas you know you're comfortable doing, and we can work from there. If you're looking for ideas, I can work with you on a vision board to get a good idea of what you like.
